gear list- Camping Crews

Required Gear for Camping Crews

  • Backpacking pack (65-80L) OR Large Duffel Bag for clothes
  • Day pack (20-35L) for work day
  • Two pairs of work pants (no big rips or holes; Dickies or Carhartts are a good choice)
  • ​Sturdy work/hiking boots (needs to reach over your ankle)
  • Rain jacket
  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag (rated to at least 30°F; sleeping bag liners are helpful if you wish to be a little warmer)
  • Sleeping pad
  • Headlamp
  • Several pairs of wool or synthetic socks (avoid cotton at all costs!)
  • As much underwear as you think you’ll need
  • Fleece, wool, or synthetic jacket/sweater
  • Reusable water bottles (4 liters total capacity)
  • Tupperware/storage container (to pack lunch or leftover food)
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush/comb, feminine hygiene products, any prescription or over the counter medications you normally need)
  • Sunscreen 
  • Insect repellent 
  • Watch with alarm or small battery operated alarm clock​

Recommended Gear

  • Pillow
  • Breathable camp shoes
  • Insulated mug
  • Hand sanitizer (there will be crew sanitizer, but having your own will come in handy)
  • Quick drying microfiber towel
  • Gaiters (for tick prevention)
  • Extra sets of clean clothes for camp and town
  • Hat (with brim for summer crews)

  • Rain pants
  • Pocket knife 
  • Sunglasses 
  • Bandana 
  • Phone 
  • ​Portable power bank and charger cord
  • Camera
  • Notebook & writing utensil
  • Personal reading material
  • Cards and/or small games​

Prohibited Gear

  • Tobacco products (this includes cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, vapor, and e-cigarettes)
  • Drugs & alcohol
  • Firearms, fireworks, or explosives
  • Knives with blades over 3” long
  • Clothing with inappropriate or offensive graphics
